6th July 2019.

The 48th Annual General Body Meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association of St. Agnes’ High School was held on 6th July 2019 at 9:00 a.m. in the senior school hall. Approximately 500 parents attended the meeting in spite of the heavy showers.

The Vice-President, Mrs Munira Saria of the PTA welcomed the parents.

Sr. Flory, our Principal and President of the PTA invoked God’s presence through a prayer. She asked God to bless each one with good health of mind and body and thanked Him for the gift of children who are His unique creation.

Mrs. Sanober Malik, the Joint Secretary of the PTA introduced and welcomed our new Principal, Sr. Flory. The minutes of the previous Annual General Body Meeting were read by the Secretary, Ms. Jenella Dias.

Elections were held in order to appoint office bearers to the Executive Committee for the year 2019-2020. Seven members contested the election from whom three were elected, namely, Mr. Parag Potfode, Mrs Hina Ansari and Mrs Misbah Merchant.

Mr. Parag Potfode was appointed as the Legal Advisor of the committee.

Sr. Flory then addressed the gathering.  By narrating an incident, Sister made parents aware of the role they play in their child’s life. She encouraged parents not to give in to every demand of their children and stressed on making children realize what is right and what isn’t during the initial years of their life.

Sister briefed the parents on the three priorities that we as a family need to work upon.

  • Practicing Forgiveness and Reconciliation thereby making family life and work life a wonderful place to be in.
  • Looking after the weak, the orphans and following in the footsteps of our Foundress, St. Claudine Thevenet.
  • Working towards bringing about Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation.

Sister concluded on the note that, we are Pilgrims on the Earth. We come with nothing and go with nothing. Hence let us be good parents, good colleagues, good spouse and strive towards making the world a better place to live in.
