14th November 2019.
Sports is not only about competition, it is also about having fun, being physically active, learning the basics of sports and building co-ordination and teamwork.
To give the students an opportunity to display their talent, self-confidence, patience, zeal and sportsmanship, St. Agnes’ High School held its 55th Annual Athletic Meet on Thursday, 14th November 2019 at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel.
The chief guest for the day was Mr. Johney Fernandes and Mrs. Nancy Fernandes, the proud parents of our Head girl, Ms. Lourdes Fernandes.
After welcoming the esteemed gathering, the school flag was unfurled and the Meet was declared open.
Ms. Anisa, our Supervisor, introduced our chief guest.
The most important event of the day was the March Past where the four houses marched in stride gracefully and competed with each other for securing the first place.
The karate kids with their moves and skill showed how one could defend themselves with all their might.
Our energetic and enthusiastic students from Std: V to X mesmerized the audience with their colourful P.T. Displays.
When the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes who strived to be in the first position.
Races for parents, ex-students and helpers further led to the excitement.
The enthusiasm could be clearly seen in our students who participated in the Tug-of-war wherein the house of St. Mark emerged victorious.
The day ended with the vote of thanks by our Head girl, followed by the lowering of the flag.
Indeed, it was a day well spent, basking in the warmth of the sun and witnessing our champs do their very best for their respective houses.
The results were as follows:
Under 12: Ms. Rudra Kuveskar. (St. John)
Under 14: Ms. Simone Parmar. (St. John)
Under 16: Ms. Shradnya Daddekar. (St. John)
