On 3rd January, we celebrate the birthday of Savitribai Phule, the first lady teacher of India. Savitribai Phule has played an important role in empowering women. She is regarded as the mother of feminism.
A short virtual assembly was held to mark this occasion. Children were briefed about this remarkable personality who worked hard to abolish the discrimination and unfair treatment of people based on caste and gender. She strived towards raising women’s consciousness about their human rights, dignity of life and other social issues.
Children participated in an essay writing competition and elocution competition too.
