*Celebrating International Yoga Day: A Journey Towards Health and Sustainable Living*
21st June 2024
On International Yoga Day, our school embraced the spirit of health and sustainability with a series of enriching activities for students of various standards.
The students of Standard 5 and 6 were introduced to the world of yoga. They learned various postures and their health benefits, fostering a connection with health and self-love. As they practiced, a sense of tranquility and focus filled the room. One of the students remarked, “Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.” This highlighted the deep personal journey and growth that yoga encourages.
Meanwhile, the students of Standard 7 and 8 dedicated their time to creative projects focusing on the theme of “Best out of Waste.” They explored the importance of sustainable living and learned how to use resources responsibly. Their innovative creations showcased the potential of waste materials and highlighted the significance of sustainability in our lives. A student passionately stated, “The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it,” underlining the critical role of individual responsibility in environmental conservation.
The day was also marked by an orientation session for students from Standard 5 to 10. During this session, the importance of adhering to school rules and regulations was emphasized. Discussions on values encouraged students to incorporate them into their daily lives. One of the guiding principles shared was, “Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.” This reinforced the idea that discipline is essential for achieving success in any endeavor.
This eventful day not only celebrated International Yoga Day but also instilled important values and lessons in our students, paving the way for a healthier, more sustainable future.
