Folk Dance Competition- Bringing back traditions.

In a vibrant display of culture, rhythm, and energy, St. Agnes High School hosted an exciting Folk Dance Competition on behalf of the Educational department.

Tuesday,  24th September 2024.The event, held in the school hall, brought together seven prominent schools from across the Mumbai  showcasing their unique interpretations of traditional folk dances as part of their co-curricular activities.

The participating schools included:

  1. K.M. Shirodkar High School

  2. R.M. Bhatt High School & Junior College

  3. St. Mary’s High School

  4. M.C.M. Girls High School

  5. Social Service League High School & Junior College

  6. St. Paul Convent High School

  7. Guru Nanak High School & Junior College

The event commenced at 10:30 AM with the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony, “Dip-Prajavlan,” performed by the esteemed Chief Guests, Mrs. Rekha Gholokar and Mr. Robin Tusamar. This ceremonial start set a graceful tone for the competition that followed.

Each school presented beautifully choreographed folk dances, which not only highlighted the diversity of Indian traditions but also celebrated unity through dance. The performances enthralled the audience, who witnessed captivating footwork, vibrant costumes, and energetic group displays, all reflecting the rich cultural heritage of our country.This competition aimed to encourage students to appreciate and preserve India’s cultural legacy through dance. The participating teams were lauded for their efforts, creativity, and dedication, making the event a grand success.
