Maharashtra Day.
Maharashtra Day is observed annually on 1st May. This day is observed all over the state in commemoration of the formation of Maharashtra State after the erstwhile Bombay province was broken into two states, one being Maharashtra and the other being Gujarat. This day is also celebrated as Labour Day.
The National Flag was hoisted and the National Anthem sung to celebrate this event.
