1st September 2021
Season of Creation.
A home for all? Renewing the Oikos of God.
Amidst crisis of the Covid- 19 pandemic that has gripped our world, the global Christian families all over the world are awakened to the urgent need to heal our relationships with creation and with each other.
The Season of Creation begins from the 1st of September, a day of prayer for creation and ends on 4th of October, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron saint of ecology. During this period the Christian family unites for the worldwide celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home.
We as followers of Christ share a common role as caretakers of God’s creation, hence it is our duty and responsibility to embrace the season in prayer, in living more sustainably and in raising our voices in the public sphere. We are invited to think more deeply about what is happening at present to our Mother Earth, the environment destruction which now threatens our world, our common home.
To begin the Season of Creation, a short online prayer service was conducted asking the Lord to hear our cries of compassion and heal our world and all creatures.
