Tree Plantation: A Step Towards a Greener Future.
On 20th June 2025, St. Agnes’ High School organized a Tree Plantation Drive with great enthusiasm. Vanamahotsav, also known as Tree Plantation Day, is a week-long festival celebrated every year in the first week of July . The word Vanamahotsav means “festival of forests,” and it serves as a reminder of our responsibility to care for nature. Planting trees is one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to protect our environment and maintain the balance of nature.
This day highlighted the importance of planting trees and protecting our environment in our school.
Trees give us oxygen, clean air, shade, fruits, and help control climate change. They also prevent soil erosion and provide shelter to birds and animals. In a time when deforestation and pollution are rising, planting trees is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect our planet.
Students and staff came together during Vanamahotsav to plant saplings and raise awareness about the need to grow more trees. It’s not just about planting a tree; it’s about nurturing it, watching it grow, and valuing the life it gives back.
This event was more than just planting saplings—it was a meaningful step towards caring for the Earth and ensuring a better future. The students participated eagerly and enjoyed the hands-on experience. It also helped them understand the importance of nurturing nature and protecting our planet.
Let us all take a pledge to plant more trees, protect our green cover, and become responsible caretakers of Mother Earth. A green future begins with a single sapling.
