Waiting in Anticipation and Hope (Advent Assembly)

2nd December 2019.

After the feast of Christ The King, celebrated on 24th November 2019, the following Sunday, we enter into the First Week of Advent.

Advent is a time of waiting and joyful celebration of Christ’s birth at Christmas. As we contemplate His First Coming, we also await in anticipation His promised Second Coming, by examining our lives and looking for practical ways to observe the holiness during this season of grace.

Keeping in mind the First Week of Advent, a short assembly was conducted for the Catholic students of Std: V to X on 2nd December.

Our Principal lit the first purple candle, the candle of Hope. Through the assembly children were made aware of the significance of the Christmas Wreath which stands for God’s eternal loving presence.

A short reflection made children think about the changes, they would like to see, to bring justice and peace to the world as the Christian faith teaches that having hope in God, is trusting that with God’s grace we can shatter darkness and bring hope to others.
